ignore the condescending and judgmental way they stare.

let them turn away. in fact, turn away yourself, and fall into the arms of the people who love you.

i know that it’s been forever. years of just endless and quiet pain.

because darling, i’m swimming in it too.

we both think we should be used to it.

and the ghosts, of care and hurt, that haunt us in the back of our minds…

they pull you into a deceit that just whispers that nothing is worth it.

that you shouldn’t care.

but you care so much, it hurts.

it hurts like hell.

they’ll inform you that every little smile, every little glance, and every little tone is against you and only against you.

but baby, that’s just your mind.

and it’s not true.

the amount of absolute bullshit life throws at you, that you have prevailed through….

that shows that you have stood the test of time.

and being here by chance…

well…

it was by chance that i met you.

out of the millions of people that swarm this earth…

i met you.

and maybe we can shift this view together.

maybe life is worth living.

we can shut the ghosts out.

we can value this short life that god has given us and…

we can prove that we can stand this test of time.
